The Curtain Grid

INFO

In 2024, Lukstudio created an adaptive exhibition design for 24.5°CURTAIN, a brand focusing on weaving herbal fibers into natural shades with traditional craftsmanship.

The creative journey started at the factory site. From the raw herbal fibers in the open field, the design team observed the entire curtain production steps. We did not only learned about the process, but the trip also inspired Lukstudio to think about the integration of handmade and modern craftsmanship, striving to achieve a harmonious coexistence in the brand aesthetics. Lukstudio created an adaptive space with a grid post-and-beam layout where the natural curtains complete the place-making.

In the reception area, the brand logo is embroidered onto a fabric piece that is still “in-progress” while a roll of fabric is integrated into a small welcoming desk. Curtains and sample fabric displays are arranged onto the structural grid in staggered composition, giving a relaxing ambience that encourages visitors to wander around and discover. In the middle of the exhibition is a large meeting table where the brand team interact with the visitors.

The booth is lined with one continuous light wall where bespoke curtains such as the wider, the textured or the more transparent ones could be found. The soft glow brings out the delicate beauty of natural fibers while the seamless backdrop exudes modern elegance.

Wrapping around a corner is an array of wooden backdrops, presenting the brand’s tribute to the origin of its product – herbal fibers. Various raw materials are carefully bundled, and arranged in a matrix of white lit boxes; a reminder of the brand’s pursuit in minimal beauty with organic materiality.
